II-16.5 Alternate Approval

Effective March 2019, this policy has been revised. For the most current version without redlining, return to V-16.

The following University Youth Programs have an alternate approval process:

  1. Research studies involving minors participating as research subjects which are approved by the University’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) shall follow the IRB-defined registration and approval process.
  2. Research laboratories with minor volunteers interns, and other areas where minors are conducting research, under the direct supervision of a faculty or staff member shall follow the written guidelines approved by the college or unit, the Office of the Vice President for Research, the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost, and the Department of Risk Management, Insurance, and Loss Prevention.
