The President of the University is the Chief Executive Officer of the institution, and has the authority and duties that have been delegated by the Board of Regents, including authority to contract. This contracting authority has been delegated on a limited basis to other University officials (see V-6.1 Contracting Authority). Under the President's leadership, the educational, research, and service missions of The University of Iowa are fulfilled in compliance with policy established by the Board of Regents.
