3.0 Temporary Furlough Benefit Extension Policy

This policy was effective July 1, 2020, through December 31, 2020. It will remain here as a reference for employees and departments until March 31, 2022, the end of the extended benefits period.
Any university employee who is subject to III-3.1i of this policy, pertaining to permanent furloughs, at any time during the period July 1, 2020, through December 31, 2020, shall receive a 3-month extension of the furlough benefits applicable to such employee according to the policy’s terms without this revision, so that the employee shall have total furlough benefits as provided below:
- Career status and specified-term employees with at least 2 years in term status:
- May participate in the Furlough Networking Program for 15 months following termination;
- May be included in the Furlough Resume Database for 15 months following termination;
- May utilize the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for up to 6 months following termination; and
- May utilize Career Development Advising Services for 15 months following termination.
- At-will, probationary, and specified-term employees with fewer than 2 years in term status:
- May participate in the Furlough Networking Program for 3 months following termination;
- May be included in the Furlough Resume Database for 3 months following termination;
- May utilize the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for up to 6 months following termination; and
- May utilize Career Development Advising Services for 3 months following termination.
